That is an interesting idea.

You want to show a list of tags and their links OR a list of articles filtered by a specific tag??

I would like to get ride of the "Articles by Tag" layout.

The main problem about the tags based menu items is that they are multi-component, Tags can be applied to articles, contacts etc. so the layouts cannot all controlled by EasyLayouts.

We could control the output of articles and contacts but not other items using Joomla tags.

I'll do some experimentation to see what is possible.

not exactly. This can be done with menu item "category blog" filter by tag option...

I was thinking in the page you get when you clic in a Joomla Tag.

But if it is too difficult dont mind.

I realise that is the menu item you were referring to but I wondered what sort of output you were looking for? And if the same set of results could be generated a different way?

If you could give me a specific URL to look at or a mockup/sketch of what want too achieve I'll be able to understand better.

Joomla shows all the articles with this tag, but you can not get ride of the layout (showing custom fields, showing "read more", etc.)
