EasyLayouts offers a customisable filter module that can be used with content blog views, featured articles views as well as content driven dynamic content.
The layout works really well with the ELS Grid with its dynamic data fetching.
You will need some familiarity wirh how EasyLayouts works to take full advantage of this feature.

Add an EasyLayouts Filter Element
First step is to add an EasyLayouts Filter Element to your template layout - you will be able to add your individual filters, and other layout elements, within this.
Add Your Filter Elements Within This
After creating your Filter Element you can add your filters within this as well as other normal layout elements.
Select Custom Field
If you are filtering on a custom field then you need to select this and configure it
ALTERNATIVE APPROACH - Create Filter Module Layout
Alternatively you could create a Filter Module Layout within EasyLayouts - choose the demo layout to get you started.
Customise the Filter Module Layout
Add new filter fields and and customise how you want the filter module to be displayed.
Create an EasyLayouts Filter Module
Create the module as you would any other module in Joomla/YOOtheme and select the layout you created previously to determine which fields are use and how you want to filters to be displayed
