Hi

I wonder. Would it be possible to build User lists / User Profile Views with Easy Layouts?
Custom Fields are available under "User".

Thanks

Christoph
The main problem here is that Joomla doesn't provide a user list menu item type. To date EasyLayouts has only modified the output of existing menu items.

Hi Geraint

Too bad. But thank you very much for your explanation.

Can you explain what the purpose of this list is? I'm wondering if you could construct something similar with specially constructed content items associated with specific users via a 'user' type custom field. I may be able to add the option to the out of the user field type to allow the display of user profile custom fields? We can already do this with the 'author' field type.

Hi Geraint

Thank you very much for your thoughts

I run a website on renewable energy. There are many registered users. Now there are also professional users, so-called energy consultants. The idea is to offer a public, extensive list of these professional users. Much more information should be displayed in the profile of the consultant profile. In addition, the consultants (usergroup "professional";) should be able to edit their own Joomla profile, so I thought it would be good to create such a user profile with User> Customfields.
Combined with the design flexibility of Easylayout + the possibility of filters, this would be a great thing.

I am currently using "Easylayout". A good component with the possibility to expand the user fields. These are then saved in a separate table. In addition, the design options are rather limited.

OK - here is another possible solution. You could use com_contact which EasyLayouts supports and which Joomla can create menu items for lists etc. A plugin to create a com_contact entry for all users of a particular usergroup would be easy to write (but there is probably one already available on the JED).

With EasyLayouts the contact entries don't need to include a contact form and they can pick up the user's custom fields
