Hello :)

For my next project I would use your component and avoid using a cck.

I would like to filter/index Joomla articles by categories or tags. However I am faced with a problem, I can’t find any module/plugin on the JED that can help me in this task.

I regularly use Joomlabamboo templates, their Zentools2 extension (is a module) could be perfect for this task (with "Filter" layout - http://zentools2.joomlabamboo.com/zentools-layout-styles/filter ) but it remains rather limited in its configuration:
- no pagination for displays with several articles.
- no filtering of categories/tags by dropdown menu instead of buttons (or navbar) -> very annoying to align them when you have a lot of categories/tags.

Do you plan to develop in a future version of Easy Layouts this kind of tools, otherwise could you advise me an extension for this task?

Thank you

Lorenzo

Thank you.
Hello, thank you for your help, it is better now, but the tag-filter seems to work only at the first page. At the second page tag has been resetted and the result contains all articles again (and all pages in the pagination). But perhaps I changed something wrong by trying/understanding the filter and the layouts? Then I`m sorry for that.
And another two questions: were do I find the remarks about the ids and easy layout...... to be able remove them?
And I don`t understand the message concerning the form and the session...
Thank you, Anke
Thanks - that was very helpful and I found the issue and fixed it on your server

The stable release will include the fix

Yes please, thank you
thanks - I had been looking at a different menu item and couldn't figure out what was going on.

I can see in the code (of com_content) why the query is returning no matching articles but not figured why Joomla is applying that additional query constraint.

Is it ok if I take a clone of the site so I can run it through my debugger locally?

thanks

The menu item is "Sachsen-Anhalt nachhaltig: Projekte und Initiativen" ID 727. Is it that, what you wanted to know?
This menu item is a 'menu item alias' but I can't see the underlying menu item - have you removed it? I need to look at it to see how it is configured

Hello, thank you for the filter module. I was waiting for :). One thing I don`t understand: after clicking the tag filter, the list of categories is shown outside the filer. If I choose a categorie after that, my articles are there (probably by categorie - at the moment the names are similar).
These are config options in the menu item parameters on the 'blog layout' tab. There you specify how many lead and intro items you want to display.

... I continue to test your component, very flexible... great! :D

I would like to reproduce a blog view from articles belonging to different categories, the type of menu is “Category Blog: Article”

How to define how many items will be displayed on each page?
For the moment I can only display 4 articles per page
-> http://test3-iorbita.iorbita.net/index.php/easy-layouts-1/ea-blog-items

Is it possible, for example, to display all articles on the same page or to display, for example, only 10 articles per page?
I looked parameters in article and menu configuration, but I can’t find how to determine the number of displays.

… maybe you have an explanation for me?

Thank you again,

Lorenzo
Can you try the link again and also you should now be able to access your replies. I changed the permission on the technical support forum and had only set the permissions on the first tab :(

Hello Geraint, thanks for the link but it leads to a page 404

Off topic: I think I have a problem on my account in the forum, I no longer have access to the replies of the messages I posted, could you check it please?

Thank you

Lorenzo
EasyLayouts offers the option to filter your menu items and modules using custom field values and we offer a filter module that allows you to filter articles based on custom fields, categories and tags. Try the latest build from https://www.easylayouts.net/support/discussions/latest-build-of-easylayouts

I guess we could extend the filtering of menu items to include tags to.
